Mayor Alinur Aktaş, who was the guest of the national television channels' news programs, explained the projects they have implemented so far and stated the future vision of Bursa. Mayor Aktas said that they were very fortunate that almost all of the features that could be given to a city, is given to Bursa”. He also said that there were some negativities in the meaning of urbanization with immigration and based on the population of the city of 3 million, located 21 Organized Industrial Zone. In spite of all these, Mayor Aktaş, who described Bursa as the most beautiful city of all times and added that Bursa's industrial identity will continue, but instead of classical industrialization, technology-based, high-value industry will take place.
Mayor Aktaş stated that the developing face of Bursa is tourism and tourism can only be promoted by Introduction. In this sense, he emphasized that they are striving to bring all the activities they have implemented into the international dimension. Aktaş also touched on the nature sports and nature tourism days they realized simultaneously with the photography festival. We live in a city with many features like mountain, lowland, sea, lakes, waterfalls and natural beauties. However, it is not enough for us to know these values. We need to tell these values to abroad. Bursa has a great infrastructure especially in relation to nature sports and the trend is constantly increasing. Being close to Istanbul is a great advantage. We have been preparing the infrastructure such as bed capacity, transportation and social facilities. But most importantly, we need to explain these values. In order to do this, we will participate 15 different tourism exhibitions in different countries of the world. Almost we will make an appearance.
HIGH TECHNOLOGY INFRASTRUCTURE
Mayor Aktaş stated that “While deciding to put forward the steps that will make Bursa stand out in tourism, they have been trying to prepare the infrastructure for high technology and value-added industries. In this sense, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan declared also in the first 100-days program, they attach great importance to the Gökmen Space Aviation Center.
Mayor Aktaş added that “high-tech manufacturing is essential to achieve the targeted export figures of Turkey. The center will be a tremendous facility, TÜBİTAK will provide equipment and material support of TL 60 million, Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry invested TL 50 million for construction and we, as Metropolitan Municipality, supplied the land for built this facility. We aim to complete the end of November, beginning of December. We are strengthening our infrastructure for our intelligent children who will produce high technology. The astronauts and pilots of the future will be trained at this facility.
12 MILLION SAVINGS
Mayor Aktaş also answered the question about the government policy regarding savings. The first day they started working in Bursa, they questioned the financial situation and reminded that they had pressed the savings button 11 months ago. He also expressed that they have questioned all the means of the vehicle and ready inventory. Beside these they returned some rental vehicles where are in the Metropolitan Municipality, BUSKI and its affiliated companies, and that they had converted some vehicles into non-driver, thus saving approximately TL 12 million between January 1, 2018 - August 31, 2018. Mayor Aktaş emphasized that they felt monetary relief. He noted that savings policies are not limited to instruments and that they scrupulously review all expenditure items.
